Ein neues Kapitel für das DHZB-Lange-Symposium – der Congenital Heart Summit
To prepare the symposium for the future and further strengthen its relevance for the community, it will now undergo a significant transformation.
The meeting will evolve into a new congress platform under the name Congenital Heart Summit.
The goal is to create a modern, dynamic event that appeals particularly to and actively involves the next generation in the field of pediatric cardiology. The new format will emphasize greater interactivity and interdisciplinarity, including discussion panels, interactive sessions, and expanded opportunities for professional exchange and networking.
To reflect this new direction, the event will also move to a new venue: the AXICA Convention Center, located directly at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
This architecturally outstanding location at a historic site provides an inspiring setting for the next chapter of the congress.
The first Congenital Heart Summit will take place on December 5, 2026, at AXICA in Berlin.
A central element of the new concept is the active involvement of the younger generation in the planning process. Their input will help shape the program, ensuring that the congress remains attractive, relevant, and aligned with the interests and needs of early-career clinicians and researchers.
Another key element of the congress series is its collaborative structure: each year, Berlin will co-organize the meeting with a different partner center from the German pediatric cardiology community.
For the launch of this new series, it was a natural choice to collaborate with the institutions of the current presidents of our German Society for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Defects: Berlin, Kiel, and Aachen.
With these developments, the Congenital Heart Summit aims to create a forward-looking platform that strengthens collaboration, encourages innovation, and supports the next generation in the field of congenital heart disease.
The scientific program will be published shortly. In the meantime, we encourage you to save the date in your calendars. The teams from Berlin, Kiel, and Aachen are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Berlin.
Prof. Felix Berger M.D.
