Structural Heart Interventions Program (SHIP)
The focus of the interdisciplinary "Structural Heart Interventions Programme" (SHIP) at the DHZC is on catheter-assisted interventions in patients with heart valve defects. The most important example of these procedures - also known as "structural interventions" - is transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), in which the aortic valve is replaced through a vascular access (usually in the groin) without major surgery.
