Emergency Medicine
The Department of Cardioanesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine participates in the emergency medical services system in the State of Berlin. Since April 2024, our emergency physicians have been part of the medical team on the Christoph 31 rescue transport helicopter (RTH), which has been operated by DRF-Luftrettung since January 1, 2026. This ensures that clinical expertise is delivered as quickly as possible to patients in life-threatening conditions.

Since January 2026, the clinic has also had its own shift allocation on emergency medical service vehicle (NEF) 4405 in Berlin-Schöneberg. It is used both for regular emergency medical service by already qualified colleagues and for training within the Berlin emergency medical services and to complete the supervised shifts required for the additional certification in emergency medicine.
