Functional service management
All cardiac catheterisation, hybrid operating theatre, anaesthesia and operating theatre functional services are managed and organised centrally at the DHZC: Cardiac Intervention Suite and Operation Room Management, or CISORM for short.
The CISORM team at the DHZC comprises around 190 colleagues. It is headed by Sabine Krukenkamp. The medical representative for the cardiac catheterisation areas is DHZC cardiologist Prof. Dr Carsten Skurk, while the medical representative for the operating theatre areas is DHZC cardio-anaesthetist Dr Matthias Hommel. Rebecca Lange is responsible for the commercial management of the cardiac catheterisation laboratories and operating theatres.
There is a functional service management team in both the operating theatre and anaesthesia areas. For the cardiac catheterisation laboratories, there is an overall management team and functional service managers at the DHZC sites.

They provide highly professional and experienced support in the treatment of complex clinical pictures and a wide variety of emergencies.
Safe anesthesiological care during highly complex cardiac surgery is characterized by interprofessional cooperation between all those involved and requires the anesthesiology teams to have the utmost expertise, extensive experience, and a high degree of specialization.
