Physiotherapy at the DHZC
Who we are - and what we do
We see ourselves as partners to our patients, who we accompany on their path to recovery in a considerate and motivating manner. The aim of our physiotherapy work is to quickly improve the physical resilience of our patients and thus also their rapid return to their everyday lives.
We treat almost all patients at the DHZC according to a personalised therapy plan as prescribed by a doctor.
Our work is literally "moving". Treatment begins as early as possible after an operation - often in the intensive care unit - with intensive respiratory therapy, mobilisation and movement therapy.
The physiotherapy team
Our team is made up of employees from different age groups, which we see as a great enrichment for our work. Reliability, mutual support and strong team cohesion are very important to us.

Working at the DHZC as a leading specialist clinic for cardiovascular diseases places high demands on the skills and knowledge of all employees - but also offers exceptional opportunities. We work closely with the various professional groups in the clinic and maintain a collegial and respectful dialogue with the doctors and nurses treating our patients.

Our fields of application
We are allowed to accompany people in borderline situations and give them the greatest possible confidence and security for their bodies. We are delighted when patients - especially after a long hospitalisation - are able to leave the hospital with a certain degree of independence.
From infants to the very elderly, we treat patients of all ages with cardiovascular diseases of all degrees of severity. These include recently operated patients, patients with mechanical circulatory support systems ("artificial heart systems") or patients who have received a donor heart or lung transplant.
The often complex clinical pictures require a high degree of specialisation, interdisciplinary cooperation and flexibility.
Our expertise and our equipment
All physiotherapists in our team are specially trained in reflective breathing therapy. The team also has expertise in the early mobilisation of patients, gait training, treatment based on the Bobath concept, manual therapy, electrical treatments, kinesiotaping and manual lymphatic drainage.

We have a separate therapy room for the treatment of patients who are already relatively fit again after an operation but still cannot be discharged - mostly people who have received a donor heart or donor lung and who still need to remain under the supervision of our specialists.
We are equipped with a large number of modern mobilisation-supporting devices such as high-quality movement trainers, gait-supporting devices and a Galileo training device.
In addition, DHZC employees are able to work in a back-friendly manner thanks to the appropriate technical equipment.
We pass on our knowledge
We attach great importance to an extensive induction phase. Depending on previous experience, our induction programme lasts ten to twelve weeks. Longer if necessary. Because we want all colleagues to feel really confident at the end of the induction period.
Experienced employees accompany our new colleagues during this time. If necessary, we offer internal and external training opportunities on an individual and flexible basis.
Who we are looking for
At the DHZC, we offer physiotherapists the opportunity to achieve sustainable treatment success together with a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for newcomers and experienced professionals to join the physiotherapy team and support our patients in their future. A comprehensive induction programme ensures a good start in the team.

Guide "Heart Atlas"
What heart diseases are there, how do they manifest themselves and how can they be recognised and treated? You will find the answers to these questions in our guidebook: With the "Heart Atlas", we want to present our range of diagnosis and therapy services to you in a clear and generally understandable way, based on the respective areas of the heart.
