Treatment of heart defects
Treatment of heart defects of any complexity
At the Department of Congenital Heart Disease - Pediatric Cardiology, our highly specialised team has been treating patients with congenital heart defects of all ages for more than 35 years. In addition to standardised surgical and interventional correction options, we offer tailored individual treatment solutions, especially for patients with complex heart defects.
An experienced and highly qualified team treats the entire spectrum of congenital heart defects of all ages and acquired diseases of the cardiovascular system in children. The clinic is already involved in the prenatal diagnosis together with the obstetricians and neonatologists and provides advice and support. The entire examination and treatment spectrum is offered after birth, in childhood and adolescence and, as an additional speciality in the EMAH Centre, also the comprehensive treatment of adults with congenital heart defects. Not only are there modern, well-equipped wards available for this, but also specialised outpatient structures.
The clinic also has two modern cardiac catheterisation laboratories, two MRI and one CT for invasive diagnostics and interventional therapy with a broad spectrum and all focal points. These include, among others
- Interventional cardiology for congenital heart defects of all age groups,
- percutaneous heart valve replacement,
- specialised heart failure therapy,
- the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension,
- electrophysiological diagnostics and ablation therapy,
- pacemaker and ICD treatment.
