Leading centre for complex high-risk coronary treatments

As a focus of our treatment options, we also offer you the therapy of very complex coronary heart diseases, such as the reopening of chronically occluded coronary vessels (CTO), the treatment of complex calcified, technically demanding lesions and the safe performance of high-risk interventions as an established CHIP centre (Complex high-risk indicated percutaneous coronary intervention) with our many years of expertise.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a common heart disease in which atherosclerosis leads to narrowed coronary arteries and thus to reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. Coronary heart disease can manifest itself symptomatically, particularly through chest pain (angina pectoris) and shortness of breath. However, chest pain can also occur acutely during a heart attack (acute coronary syndrome), in which there is a partial or complete blockage of a coronary artery.

Range of services

Priority programme in the treatment of chronic coronary occlusions (CTO-Rekanalisation)

High-risk intervention focus programme

  • For the safe treatment of high-risk interventions - especially for patients with severely impaired cardiac function - we offer individualised treatment within the framework of Precision PCI using temporary left ventricular assist devices (Protected PCI):
    • Left ventricular support systems (Impella CP)
    • Right ventricular support systems (Impella RP)

Interventional treatment of acute pulmonary artery embolism

  • Thrombus aspiration (INARI)

Diagnostic cardiac catheterisation (left/right heart catheterisation)

Functional evaluation of fractional flow reserve

  • by means of pressure wire measurement (FFR/RFR/DFR) as well as
  • modern digital and wireless stenosis quantification (QFR/vFFR)

Intravascular imaging

  • Intravascular ultrasound (HD-IVUS)
  • Optical coherence tomography (OCT)

Evaluation of coronary microcirculatory disorders and coronary vasospasm diagnostics using modern Coroventis CoroFlow and provocation testing (CFR/IMR)

Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)

Drug-eluting stents (DES) and drug-eluting balloons (DEB)

Debulking and lesion preparation at the highest international level by means of

  • balloon angioplasty
    • Blade angioplasties (cutting and scoring PTCA)
    • Super high pressure balloon angioplasties (OPN NC)
  • Intravascular lithotrypsy using Shockwave (IVL)
  • State-of-the-art rotablation procedures
  • orbital atherectomy (Diamondback)

Kidney-protective treatment through extensive use of intracoronary imaging, which minimises the use of contrast agents (low/zero contrast PCI)
