The DHZC patient portal

What is the patient portal?

The DHZC patient portal, based on digital solutions from Doctolib Hospital, is a digital platform that facilitates dialogue with our employees. Digital services such as appointment reminders, video consultations and document exchange simplify communication and organisation and create greater transparency - before, during and after treatment.

Doctolib is a digital appointment scheduling tool. It helps to manage appointments and automatically reminds patients of their appointments.

We have now also introduced Doctolib at the DHZC. From now on, you can also receive notifications about your appointment by e-mail or SMS. Further functions will be added step by step.

The most important advantages

  • Automatic appointment reminders: You will receive timely reminder messages for an agreed appointment.
  • Exchange documents securely: Documents can be shared before the appointment and also received after the treatment - all via a secure 1:1 connection.
  • Attend appointments at home: Certain appointments are available as video consultations. Appointments are arranged and carried out in the same software.
  • Family-friendly service: Manage your entire family's appointments from a single account.
  • Data protection-compliant use: All data is transmitted in encrypted form and only Charité and its patients have access to it.

Please note: Currently, on-site appointments continue to be made exclusively by our medical staff. However, it is also possible to request an appointment for a video consultation in individual areas.

The DHZC patient portal will be gradually expanded for you and the range of services will be extended. In the area overview, you can check whether the outpatient clinic or clinic you would like to visit is already using the portal.

Doctolib is currently used in the following areas at the DHZC (as of April 2025)

Further information on data protection

With regard to data protection, Doctolib is responsible for the management of patients' private accounts and the data stored and processed therein, such as appointments, messages or documents. In contrast, Charité is responsible for all data processed and stored by Charité as part of the use of the patient portal. This includes Charité's internal administration of all appointments scheduled in the patient portal, the associated patient data and documents, and order processing activities carried out by Charité (e.g. sending appointment notifications). The exchange of data between Charité and the personal Doctolib accounts only takes place with the patient's consent.
