On the paedriatic cardiology intermediate care and general ward WD4i, we care for patients after a cardiac catheter examination, accompany children after an artificial heart implantation, sometimes over a long period of time, and care for patients before and after their operation. Post-operative patients are admitted to WD4i after the paediatric intensive care unit and continue to require very intensive medical monitoring and care (IMC). We also care for patients who come for outpatient examinations such as MRI, CT, cardioversion, TEE under sedation and for post-inpatient follow-up care. We also treat adults with congenital heart defects (EMAH).
WD4i is our general paediatric cardiology ward for the treatment of children and adults with congenital heart defects. Our treatment focuses on periinterventional and perioperative care for patients of all ages as well as chronic artificial heart care and heart failure treatment.Where possible, we offer overnight stays for one of our patients' parents (rooming-in).
