Long Symposium 2025
For two decades, the Lange Symposium has stood for the exchange of knowledge, inspiration and innovation in the world of congenital heart defects. What once began as a small specialist event has developed into an important forum for our community. As a stage for sharing groundbreaking findings and innovations that have improved the lives of patients with congenital heart disease, this time we would also like to take a look back at what the last two decades of development in congenital heart disease medicine have brought: fundamental successes in interventional cardiology, such as the pioneering developments in percutaneous valve implantation, enormous progress in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension, through to new treatment options for terminal heart failure and the constant improvements in the surgical treatment of highly complex heart defects in particular. This is one of the reasons why we are delighted about the constantly growing number of adults with congenital heart defects and the associated new medical challenges.
This anniversary is an occasion to reflect on the achievements of the last 20 years - not only to act in the best possible way in the here and now, but also to be prepared together for the medicine of the future.
