Outpatient clinic and consultation hours
The Department of Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK) offers regular medical consultations in the outpatient clinics listed below. Please bringyour health card and a referral from a specialist (i.e. a cardiologist in private practice) with you toyour first appointment of the quarter .
Patients attending the outpatient clinic for severe heart failure and cardiomyopathies and the Marfan outpatient clinic require a referral with a cross for §116b.
The outpatient clinic for severe heart failure and cardiomyopathies is one of the centrepieces of our concept for the care of patients with heart failure. Depending on the existing cardiological connection, patients with complex or advanced heart failure can be presented for a specialised second opinion, complementary co-care or complete care. As the DHZC, together with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, covers the entire spectrum of cardiovascular medicine, together they form the only supra-regional heart failure centre in Berlin.

The pacemaker and ICD consultation is available for the outpatient aftercare of patients with implanted pacemakers and cardioverters/defibrillators. On request, our doctors will also clarify whether a pacemaker or cardiac resynchronisation therapy is required in individual cases.
In our pacemaker outpatient clinic, we provide follow-up care for implanted devices from all manufacturers (Medtronic, Biotronik, Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical, Impulse Dynamics) and are also the point of contact for cardiologists in private practice who would like a second opinion on a suspected malfunction.
After device implantation (pacemaker, ICD, CRT, cardiac contractility modulation, event recorder, baroreceptor stimulation), patients receive an outpatient follow-up appointment in our pacemaker outpatient clinic. There, a special ‘programming head’ is placed on the implanted system for completely painless monitoring. Standard parameters (including stimulation thresholds, perception and impedances) are measured, the battery life is checked and the memory is read out. If necessary, the programmed parameters are adjusted.

We also have an emergency outpatient clinic for acute chest pain (Chest Pain Unit). We also look after inpatients from the German Heart Centre.
We endeavour to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Due to the different time-consuming treatments, it may be the case that the order of patients cannot be based exclusively on arrival time. Emergency patients always have priority. We ask for your understanding if waiting times occur.
