Department of Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care Medicine | Campus Benjamin Franklin

A warm welcome to the website of our Department of Cardiology, Angiology, and Intensive Care Medicine at Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité.

We combine personal attention and commitment to your health with top-tier medical care in various fields of cardiology. As a leading university hospital, we offer access to the latest diagnostic and treatment methods for cardiovascular diseases. In doing so, we place particular emphasis on a personalized treatment approach. Our highly skilled and experienced team of doctors, nurses, and other staff stand by your side with the highest level of expertise and heartfelt care to restore and maintain your health.

We are pleased to be here for you.

If we can identify risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and early stages of cardiovascular system damage individually and at an early stage, we can initiate interventions early on as well. We aim to better understand the individual risk of cardiovascular disease for our patients. This is what we work on and research every day.

Prevention research at the CBF

Researching cardiovascular diseases, recognising individual risks at an early stage and reacting to them preventively - that is the aim of the Friede Springer - Cardiovascular Prevention Center. The new research centre is being built on the Benjamin Franklin Campus. Its director is Prof Dr Ulf Landmesser.

The Cardiac Arrest Centre at our clinic specialises in the treatment of patients with a so-called refractory cardiovascular arrest, where circulation could not be restored despite resuscitation measures. This acute medical treatment is complex and is only offered in a few specialised clinics.
A cardiac arrest can also have long-term consequences (e.g. organ dysfunction). We are there for patients in our interdisciplinary aftercare outpatient clinic.
