What are the tasks of the medical assistants in the cardiology outpatient clinic?
MFAs are an indispensable part of the cardiological outpatient clinics at the DHZC, as they are the first point of contact for patients and at the same time the calling card of the clinic. They are responsible for admitting patients, recording all important information and preparing the examinations. In addition to organising appointments and processing enquiries by post, e-mail or telephone, they support the doctors with numerous functional diagnostic and administrative tasks.
Interprofessional cooperation is a top priority. Nikolaus, head of the outpatient clinic and specialist, together with Sabrina at the evaluation meeting for optimal patient care.

The core tasks of an MFA in cardiology at the DHZC include performing ECGs and, in particular, the preliminary diagnosis of long-term ECGs, in which cardiac activity is measured over a longer period of time under everyday conditions. In addition, the MFAs assist with echocardiographies, in which the heart structure and function are analysed using ultrasound, for example stress echo. This is an echocardiography that is performed under stress. But it doesn't stop there. Our MFAs are also responsible for taking blood samples and preparing other laboratory tests.
Nadine, senior MFA, takes a blood sample - an example of the wide range of activities, from organisational tasks to medical procedures.

In short: the medical assistants in the cardiology outpatient clinics at the DHZC are the central points of contact. They ensure that all processes in the cardiology outpatient clinic run smoothly. Through these diverse activities, our medical assistants make a significant contribution to ensuring that patient care at all three locations is efficient and patient-centred. Their commitment and expertise make them an indispensable part of the DHZC team.
