According to the 2024 global ranking of the US magazine Newsweek, our clinics are among the best specialist cardiac clinics in the world. As in the previous year, 2023, the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery is ranked 6th among 150 excellent hospitals worldwide, making it the best cardiac surgery clinic in Europe. Our cardiology department is also ranked 6th, the only clinic in Europe among the top ten.
We are very pleased about this award, which was only possible as a team effort by all the specialist and professional groups involved.

Our claim
All anaesthesia, cardiac catheterisation and operating theatre services at the DHZC are part of the organisational unit Cardiac Intervention Suite and Operation Room Management, or CISORM for short.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How will I be paid?
A: We will pay you fairly and transparently in accordance with the collective agreement – including 30 days' holiday. You can find the collective agreements and salary scales here.
Q: How does the application process work?
A: As soon as you have submitted your documents, we will review them and contact you. If you meet the criteria for the position, we will invite you to an interview – this can be done digitally or in person, as you prefer. Work shadowing is possible on request and is sometimes also mandatory. You can expect a final response to your application after the interview (and, if applicable, the work shadowing) approximately one week later.
Q: Is there an option to work part-time?
A: In general, we always offer the option to work part-time. Whether and in what form is best discussed directly with your contact person.
