Declaration on accessibility

The German Heart Centre of the Charité endeavours to make its website accessible. The declaration on digital accessibility is required by the Berlin Act on Accessible Information and Communication Technology (BIKTG Bln). The technical requirements for accessibility are set out in the current BITV.

What is already accessible?

  • Our website is optimised for all end devices (responsive design).
  • The contrast level can be switched by a button on all subpages.
  • The font size can be adjusted using a switch on all subpages.
  • We do not use flashing elements.
  • We do not use frames (frame constructions).
  • We endeavour to have a clear page structure and a clear separation of content, structure and design.
  • We endeavour to use language appropriate to the target groups.
  • We endeavour to provide alternative texts and image descriptions for images and forms.
  • We endeavour to display all videos embedded on the website with subtitles.
     

Status of compliance with the requirements

The websites are not yet fully compliant with the above guidelines. The incompatibilities are listed below.
The content listed below is not barrier-free:

  • PDF documents could not yet be converted to an accessible format.
  • Not all videos embedded in the website have subtitles.
  • Graphics or images contained in the pages have not yet been fully supplemented with text descriptions.
  • The Easy Language feature has not yet been integrated into the website.
